Can I help one of my children without this reducing his/her share in the inheritance?
Some assets received by the heir during the deceased's lifetime will be included in the succession, or the reserved share, to ensure equal treatment between the heirs and the forced heirs. Any gift that the deceased has made during his/her lifetime is taken into account when calculating the reserved share (see §§ 784 SS. of the Austrian Civil Code; below: ABGB).
