Can I retain some rights associated with the assets I give away? Can I reserve a right of reclaim?

It is possible to make conditional donations. For example, it is possible to make a donation of immovable property conditional upon the donor having the right to live therein, or that the beneficiary has maintenance obligations towards the donor. It is also possible to include in the agreement a right of reclaim in favour of the donor in case there is a breach of terms of the agreement.
