How can I pass my assets while I’m still alive ?

It is possible to prepare the transfer of your estate during your lifetime by means of a gift. A gift is a legal act enabling a person, the donor, to transfer property immediately, irrevocably and without charge (i.e. expecting nothing in return) to another person, the donee. If you have rightful heirs, be sure that the totality of your gifts does not exceed a certain limit, called the disposable portion, otherwise your gifts may be contested by other rightful heirs. Consult your notary for more information.
