Can I influence the effects of the donation on the succession?
Yes, it is possible, depending on how you designate the gift. If the gift is an advance payment of the share of the inheritance to a rightful heir, it will be charged against his share and considered a straightforward advance on inheritance. On the other hand, if the gift is done separately from the inheritance, it is deducted from the disposable portion and, as a result, the heir’s share of the succession remains intact, and in fact increases his entitlement in relation to that of his co-heirs.
