How can I protect my spouse or partner ?
A person may bequeath his/her assets by will with the intention of protecting his/her spouse/ partner. The testator may also include a testamentary reservation in favour of his/her spouse/partner in the will. Furthermore, during the marriage, the spouses may conclude a marriage contract or contract partitioning joint property and agree which assets belong to which of the spouses. A spouse may also transfer an asset as a gift to the other spouse.
