How can I make sure my children are treated equally?

One is totally in control when deciding upon the partitioning of the estate, within the limits of the portions reserved by law. So, whether transferring property by donation during one’s lifetime or regulating it by means of a will, or settling into a trust, one can always partition the estate equally between all the heirs. As a practical example, one cannot say that children have not been treated equally if Mr X leaves his entire estate to his two children in equal shares between them. However, if Mr Y leaves Property A to child A and Property B to child B, one of the children might feel that the property given to the other sibling had a greater value or was more practical than the one bequeathed to him or her.
