Can I influence the effects of the donation on the succession ?
Yes, if the right to the reserved portion of the estate is not affected. According to Romanian law, the persons entitled to reserved shares of the estate are the surviving spouse, the descendants, and the privileged ascendants (parents). In any event, donations made while the testator is alive (inter vivos gifts) will be reduced in the succession procedure within the limits of the disposable part of the estate (share of the estate remaining after calculation of the reserve).
